Tug Of War With Richie

Author: puketristin | Filed under: Richie

When Richie grabbed onto the rope we knew we had some competition.
We heaved and we pulled and we strained and we tugged him into submission.
We enslaved him on our team and then we faced another tribe. The fiery red foe.
But with Richie on our team we were too big and mean.
We heaved them over the line in no time.

An Animal That Starts T
Tasmanian devil
Where do Tasmanian devils live?
Wild Tasmanian devils can only be found in the wild in Tasmania (Australia).
what do Tasmanian devils eat
Devils are carnivores, which means they will eat other animals. They are also scavengers, and they’re not too fussy at dinnertime.
They often eat half-rotten meat and scavenge in the bush and on farms, like natural vacuum cleaners, keeping the bush healthy and reducing maggots, which can lead to fly strike in sheep. Of course they also like fresh meat, and they sometimes go hunting for food.

They’ll eat lizards, frogs and insects, in fact almost anything they can find.

How much do devils eat?

Devils can eat about 5 to 10% of their body weight in a day – and probably more at a feast if they are really hungry.

Science Investigation Proposal

Hypothesis:

Dairy products can grow mould

We will need:

cheese, butter, yogurt, plastic bags.

First we will:

put all the products into a plastic zip lock bag.

place them all into the store room.

check them every day for 7 days and keep check of the progress of your investigation.

last of all write down your findings and say whether or not your investigation worked.

Mould On Bread

Author: puketristin | Filed under: Uncategorized

Hypothesis:

Mould grows slower in colder temperatures then warmer temperatures.

This is what we know about mould on bread.

Mould grows faster in the room temperature.

It did not grow in the fridge because it was too cold and  in the hot water cupboard was too hot.

but the mould only grew on the top

because that side was not touching the hot water cylinder.

So we have learnt grows best at room temperature, it needs moisture and it likes dark place to grow.

After doing this investigation I could try and find out if mould grows faster on different kinds of bread.
